The Friday Fancy: Vibrant Spring Handbags Under $35
Spring is just around the corner ladies and you know what that means? More junk to carry. Bronzers (to cover up that Winter white “glow”), SPFs, sunnies, hair-ties, you name it – it’s going with you. You’ve got to find a way to tote all those essentials with you without looking like you carry an oversized beach bag everywhere. (Because if you’re on the First Coast like me, you probably already have one of those to deal with.) So the search for the perfect Spring handbag is on!
I’m a big fan of Internet shopping, so I went to Amazon to search for bags and I was not disappointed. Designers have really stepped up their faux leather game this year! I was able to find several faux leather bags that are perfect for everyday and special occasions. Here’s a compilation of The Friday Fancy for Spring handbags.
Vegan Faux Leather Crossbody Bag
This is probably my favorite bag on this list, so I wanted to start off with it. The purse is actually two separate pocket compartments instead of one large compartment. I prefer this when I’m carrying my sunglasses. It allows me to leave my chunky case at home but still have some form of protection against pens and chapstick tubes that may scratch the lenses. The gold details really pop against all 13 of the available colors and the inside lining is a nautical stripe that I’m really digging this year. The hot pink and the orange-red color are my favorites! I may have to get both. ;P This handbag goes for $25 on Amazon.
Synthetic Leather Boutique Tote Handbag
Is it just me or does Spring scream “wear blue”? I’ve found myself wearing a lot of blue pieces lately, and this synthetic leather tote bag is no exception. It’s not your typical grocery store tote bag, this handbag is chic and comes with a top handle and an optional strap. The metal details on the outside are understated but really bring a great contrast, stand-out feature to the blue. This bag comes in 9 colors, but I think the navy blue option is the one that stands out the best with the metal detail. Take a look for yourself, because this thing is only $33. That makes it the most expensive on my list, but I think it’s well worth it!
Evening Envelope Clutch with Removable Strap
Life isn’t all about work ladies, so a great evening or day-to-night bag is essential. This envelope clutch is perfect to get you from the office to your night out. It comes in 8 vibrant colors, and if I was willing to splurge on purses – I’d get one in every color. It’s primarily a clutch but it does come with a removable strap, which makes it so versatile. I looked at some of the crazy pictures ladies were posting on Amazon with this bag, and I am loving how much you can pack into it! (Always a good trait in any bag.) Plus at less than a night out on the town (just $30), you can always pick up a spicy red clutch for night and one of the other fun colors for daytime (like the sunshine yellow color I’m eyeing up).
Faux Leather Satchel
Brown is not usually what I would typically go for in a Spring bag, but this one has me rethinking my choices lately. This bag is too cute! I love the hook detail on the front, as well as the cool cut-outs along the flap and front pocket. The reviews say it’s made from stiff, good quality material and it’s just big enough to fit a 10-inch tablet with a case. That, combined with the extra pocket in the front, makes this bag perfect for work or the weekend. (It fits snacks people! Snacks!) It has a vintage traveler feel to it that really draws you in and makes you feel ready for an adventure. And at less than $30 for this bad boy, you could afford that adventure or at least dream about it while you’re sitting behind your desk (like me right now).
Double Compartment Crossbody Bag
This bag jumped out at me when I was searching for something to travel with. Like I said, I’m really into the idea of separate compartments this year. This bag caught my eye because it not only snaps shut but each compartment has a zipper to add extra protection for your valuables. In my case, I was looking for something to hold my sunnies and maybe my point-and-shoot camera. If I’m honest with myself, Jonathan and I don’t always want to lug around the DSLR and the idea of bringing along a smaller camera that can be protected without a clunky case really appeals to me. The price couldn’t be more tempting too – only $22! (My weekly Starbucks bill is more than that!) I couldn’t pass this one by, so I had to share it with you ladies!
Which brings me to my question of the day…
What’s most important to you in a handbag – carrying capacity or how it looks with your outfit? I tend to lean toward carrying capacity, but let me know in the comments below what you look for! As always, keep it classy and compassionate till next time.
